Seat runners welded in, from Mazda Bongo, with Bongo rear bench seat. So potentially a 6 seater, with 3 in front and 3 in middle bench seats.

Started fitting seat belts.

Swapped n/s rear light, the old one has got a temporary repair, picked up a cheap replacement off ebay.

  1. Great blog! It has been a source of inspiration for me. I have recently acquired a Citroen Dispatch and intend to do a conversion before the summer. The Mazda Bongo seats look great. I like the idea of being able to seat 6 people. How did you mange to fit the seats in the back. Do the runners line up with fixing on the floor of the van? Any advice on obtaining Mazda Bongo seats?

  2. Whoops, only just seen this comment.

The runners managed to fit reasonably well between a couple of lower points in the floor. I bolted to get position and then welded the runners to the floor. Since then I've come across a Kia Sedona rear seat which looks like it uses a similar runner arrangement but with narrower spacing.
From the later blog posts you will see that I've gone away from 3 in the front (my bum's too big!), so the Bongo Front seat is now in storage FREE to anybody who wants it!
